About Us

IMG_9872-2Ditanyon Demps, owner of TRU FIT BOOTCAMP and creator of the TRU FIT FORMULA, is a Flint, Mich., native.  He developed an interest in fitness in 2000 while on a personal journey for overall good health.  Ditanyon discovered he had a knack for training others while helping his college roommate lose over 40 lbs in three months. The overwhelming boost of self-confidence and energy he witnessed in his college friend inspired him to pursue his passion to help others achieve similar successes.

Upon achieving his first certifications in nutrition and physical training through ISSA, he began to develop his own brand of training at Gold’s Gym, and in client’s homes throughout New York City. His move to California in 2006 brought him to Sherman Oaks, where as a sports model he has appeared in numerous commercials, videos and magazines.

Over the past 17 years, he has created his own unique approach to fitness, overall wellness and good health. Ditanyon has trained and worked with some of Hollywood’s biggest writers, producers and celebrities. He was the fitness consultant on the hit show, “Hot in Cleveland,” and the first featured trainer on the E! News “Summer Fitness” segment. He has also made several appearances on Valerie Bertinelli’s “Valerie’s Home Cooking” show on the Food Network.  He has appeared in magazines including Closer Weekly, People, Men’s Health, Voyage LA Magazine and Muscle and Fitness

His client roster includes The Hasselhoffs, actress and host Valerie Bertinelli, Peter Walsh, Candice Michelle, Peter Reckell, top dance choreographer Brian Friedman and professional athletes.

Ditanyon credits his success to his three-step approach to fitness of mind, nutrition and constantly-varied exercise.

The first step in the TRU FIT FORMULA is to work on the mind, as the body follows the mind. So, we must first fix the mind before starting any action towards success.

Second is nutrition.  “You can’t out work a bad diet.” Putting nutrition before exercise is vital in not wasting valuable hours in the gym only to ruin them at lunch and dinner.

His third and final approach is constantly-varied exercise, as dull repetitive programs not only cause fitness plateaus, but also become less exciting and engaging over time due to the monotony.

Ditanyon is certified with APEX, the National Federation of Professional Trainers (NFPT), The American Council on Exercise (ACE) as a lifestyle and weight management consultant, National Council on Strength and Fitness (NCSF) and the International Sports Science Association (ISSA). He has a Level 1 & 2 Trainer Certificate in CrossFit and accreditation’s in supplemental and sports supplementation, brain-based psychology, power and plyometrics and Olympic weightlifting.
